Hergé was inspired by the Willys CJ2A to draw the Objectif Lune Jeep. It was the first civilian-made jeep (intended for agricultural work), its production began on July 17, 1945 and 214,760 units were manufactured between 1945 and 1949. The red jeep, scale 1/43, from the adventure Land of Black Gold (page 60) has Tintin driving Smith (not so happy), Snowy and yes it’s the Thompson’s in the back.
